Few people realize it, but the headwaters of the Snake River flow through the southern portion of Yellowstone Park. The river provides great dry fly fishing for cutthroats in the upper reaches along with some rainbows, cutbows and browns in its lower stretches. Wildlife and scenery are bonuses here. Heart Lake and Heart River both provide excellent fishing for cutthroats and lake trout.
