Recommended Fly Selection

Yellowstone Backcountry Pack Trips

DSCN0584_fadeWe provide a box of flies and other terminal tackle at the beginning of the trip. At the end of the trip inventory will be taken on the flies and tackle. Your credit card will be charged for any flies and tackle used during the course of the trip. We recommend this system as it provides you with a large selection of quality flies that will work best for the area you are fishing. This affords you the opportunity to have a vast selection without spending an arm and a leg for flies you may or may not use. You can purchase additional flies at the end of the trip if you choose. We’ve put together this list of popular flies for Yellowstone if you would like to tie some of your own flies or purchase some prior to arriving. We will issue you a box of flies regardless if you bring your own or not. This list is intended as a guideline. You wont need every pattern or every color and size of each pattern listed.
