Drift Boat Basics

Buying your first drift boat or just want to learn how to row? Then this course is for you! Learn different rowing techniques, how to launch your boat, where and how to anchor, how to land fish, getting your boat through shallow water, boat ramp and river etiquette, how to read the water and where to go, nomenclature, anatomy of a drift boat, essential equipment and what features to consider when purchasing a drift boat.

Cost: $175.00 for full day course; lunch & beverages included. Bring your own boat or one boat will be provided for every 2 students.

DEPOSIT: A 50% deposit is required to sign up; balance is due on or before the start of the class. Cash, check and all major credit cards are accepted. Deposits are fully refundable or can be applied towards a future class. Deposits will be refunded if the minimum number of students is not met or you can be transferred to a future course.

WHERE & WHEN: Meet at Greater Yellowstone Flyfishers at 8:00 a.m. This is a full day course and should last until approximately 5:00 p.m. Course will be held on either the lower Madison or bird’s float on the Yellowstone River.
